Summer has exploded in Valceno!
It’s time to harvest fruits... in every sense. Our sour cherry tree in front of the well is overflowing with them.
In addition to the harvest, we’re getting busy with our usual manual tasks. We continue to cut wood, the brush cutter is put to use, and we tidy up among the rubble. A cute little toad peeks out, crushed by the wooden planks and debris. Stefano "rescues" it and takes it to the Ceno.
Meanwhile, a puppy pointer enters our property, thirsty and tired. We give it some water and shelter in the shade, and discover its name engraved on its tag: Oliver. It stays with us all afternoon until we manage to contact its owners, who come to pick it up. It’s quite funny. Ste tries to "tame" it, but it keeps jumping on us!
In these weeks, the presence of bats in the house is becoming more frequent, and all we’re left wondering is where we’ll send them to sleep... They have a cute little face, all furry.
The work continues. The long-awaited boiler has arrived, and with some "manly" effort, the buffer tank is also brought inside the house, where the skilled Daniel has rebuilt the stairs, recovering the old terracotta tiles.
Our nest is taking shape!
