The few words spoken during the car ride to Borgotaro reveal an apprehension that had been tried to "cover up" in recent days. The curses for the usual queue along the Milan ring road serve to release some of this tension...
The fog dissolves, almost as if to support our idea that we are moving to an area where we will be better off. As soon as we start the highway that leads to the hills and mountains between Parma and La Spezia, a warm sun warms us inside and out, helped by the softness of the landscape and the colors of this very anomalous winter.
First stop: the appointment with the architect, made "by the skin of our teeth", allows us to define some very important details, now urgent, and off to the notary's office.
An absolutely informal welcome and we find ourselves in front of a young, dynamic notary who is very careful to make us understand every little detail of what is reported in the numerous pages of the sales contract. The usual silence, prerogative of a certain fear of losing even just some important passage of the reading of the text and, at the end, the actual exchange: the keys to our future home are in our hands.
Two disordered bunches, with keys of various shapes: long, short, with a round "head", rectangular, some covered in colored plastic; only one is separate, strung on an orange key ring with the words: Mulino Carpana - Bardi written on it.
It's ours. It's our future life.
